One of the most frequently prescribed drugs for the cough treatment in both adults and children are mucolytics, as they improve mucociliary clearance and facilitate the thick sputum removal from the tracheobronchial tree. Any ARI therapy requires a comprehensive treatment, including therapy with phytogenic drugs, taking into account all possible adverse events. The comprehensive treatment of patients with respiratory diseases (especially with chronic and recurrent inflammatory lung diseases) include drugs, reducing the sputum viscosity and elasticity, and improve expectoration. There is a great variety of drugs that have this action mechanism. In each case, the drug choice should be strictly individual, taking into account all the following possible factors: drug pharmacological action mechanism, pathological process nature, child age, possible formulation combinations. One of these drugs is a combined phytogenic drug Eucabal®, which is available in the form of emulsion and syrup.
