The article presents the basic information about the role of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in the immune response formation in children and adults. The article also examines previously published and in-house data on the study results confirming the reduction in the acute respiratory infection morbidity during the probiotics administration in different age groups. In can be concluded that in order to reduce the number of seasonal infectious disease episodes in different age groups, it is necessary to use probiotics according to numerous data summarization. Lactobacilli and bifidobacteria are permanent necessary representatives of the human physiological microbiota, which currently needs to be actively supported. However, it is necessary to take into account the known data on the properties of one or another strain and the dosage, which will be enough to obtain the desired result, when choosing the probiotic composition. Currently, 1×109 CFU — is a necessary amount of bacteria cultures. The examination shows a significant effect of complex probiotic composition on the seasonal respiratory infection frequency and severity. The most successful combination of probiotics for seasonal morbidity prevention in childhood is: Streptococcus thermophilus + Lactobacillus paracasei ssp. paracasei + Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis, which is contained in a specially created dosage form for kids — FlorOK® Baby. It should also be recommended for the microflora imbalance correction, which is observed in the majority of children today, as it entails frequent acute respiratory infections. This drug is safe, effective and especially important for children attending kindergartens and schools according to the available study results. A complex adequate physiological immune protection is formed both in a child and an adult, which significantly reduces the body’s susceptibility to infectious diseases when using a specially selected probiotic composition.

Keywords: Bifidobacterium BB-12, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Streptococcus thermophilus, Bifidobacterium, immunity, Lactobacillus, acute respiratory diseases.
