Ovarian germ cell tumors are the most common pathology in girls among malignant lesions. The paper describes the history of different treatment modalities for this pathology. Emphasis is placed on the surgical treatment approaches change of children with ovarian germ cell tumors. Clinical features of ovarian germ cell tumors, the disease progression peculiarity in the abdominal cavity, were revealed in the studies of recent years. Ovarian germ cell tumor pattern consists of the peritoneal progression and liver injury. The ascites presence is an early and important sign of tumor recurrence. In terms of the ovarian germ cell tumor morphological structure, the diverse prognosis was noted. Chemotherapy application with platinum-based drugs has significantly improved the therapy results with minimal surgical intervention — oophorectomy on the lesion side. Such surgical treatment approach allowed to preserve the possibility of proper sexual development and fertility preservation, which significantly improved the quality of life in cured patients.
