The possibility of using silver proteinate in complex therapy of rhinosinusitis

Silver proteinate has long been known for its antiseptic effect on damaged mucous membranes and skin, its bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect on most clinical strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. There is a lot of positive experience with the use of silver proteinate, given its good efficacy, high safety profile in the treatment of major inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract. The article highlights the mechanisms of its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action, lists the advantages of the industrial preparation of silver proteinate over its pharmacy form. Own data confirming the high bactericidal effect of low-frequency ultrasound in combination with the ozone/NO-gas mixture for pure cultures of microorganisms E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, as well as high efficiency of the combined use of silver proteinate solution (Sialor®) in complex with ozone/NO-ultrasonic method in the course of surgical treatment and in the postoperative period in patients with purulent sinusitis, which gives grounds to recommend this approach to use in medical practice.
