The review discusses the role of angiogenesis inhibitors in treatment of age-related macular degeneration. The target of this class of drugs is a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Results of international clinical trials on several angiogenesis inhibitors are presented. Efficacy and safety (including the number of eye and somatic complications) are discussed.
