Medical and social aspects of formation of the healthy lifestyle concepts in Russia
Kaprin A.D., Alexandrova L.M., Starinsky V.V.

Moscow Scientific Research Oncology Institute  named after P.A. Herzen – Branch of  National Medical Radioligy Research Center

The article deals with the interrelation and interdependence of the concepts "health" and "healthy lifestyle". Problems associated with insufficient information about HLS are described, as well as low prestige and social importance of sports among young people. The authors analyze the risk factors related to the way of life of the population, determining the prevalence of chronic non-infectious diseases (tobacco use, improper feeding, lack of physical activity and harmful alcohol use), and show the importance of a healthy lifestyle in the prevention and control of these diseases. The article discusses in detail the issues of nutrition, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol consumption control. The formation of the foundations of the healthy lifestyle is hampered by a lack of knowledge and skills in organizing work with the population that results from the doctors' preference for the treatment. The professional activity of every medical professional, regardless of his specialty and position, should be aimed at increasing medical awareness, hygienic literacy, optimizing the preventive and medico-social activities of the population. Improvements in the health status of the Russian population can be achieved through the use of a set of interagency activities aimed at creating a healthy lifestyle.

Key words: health, healthy lifestyle, prevention, risk factors.
