The aim of the study is to summarize current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of back pain syndrome at the level of an outpatient therapeutic service.
The back pain syndrome remains one of the most frequent reasons for visiting a doctor, the focus of morbidity is shifted on the working age. It is the therapist who manages this category of patients most often. The article provides the structure of diagnostic algorithms for working with patients complaining of back pain, and presents the main causes of pain, differential-diagnostic approaches, comparative characteristics of various variants of back pain. The review highlights the «red flags» - symptoms and syndromes requiring urgent action and diagnostic procedures, including consultations of specialized doctors. Algorithms of standard and minimally necessary diagnostic manipulations are given, indications for appointment of consultations of adjacent specialists are outlined.
The part of the article, dedicated to the treatment of back pain syndrome, analyzes the efficacy and safety of using the combined preparation based on ibuprofen and paracetamol for the management of back pain, and the results of randomized studies of this combination are presented.
