Recent studies have shown a key role of imbalance between extracellular matrix degradation and angiogenesis in pathogenesis of venous trophic ulcers (VTUs), as well as a significant increase in serum angiogenin levels in this category of patients. The author presents his own experience of combined therapy for VTUs with injectable and local recombinant angiogenin in 4 patients aged 50–86 years with comorbidities who were resistant to conventional treatment. In one case, the injections were combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Wound defect area alteration, as well as granulation and complete healing time were efficacy ctiteria. All the presented clinical case reports showed significant improvement. Within 3–4 weeks, active appearance of granulation tissue and epithelialization onset were reported. Complete healing of the ulcers was achieved in 3 patients within 2–4 months. Angiogenin therapy demonstrated high efficacy in reparation stimulation in recurrent VTUs. Therefore, it may be considered as a promising adjuvant in combined therapy of this condition. The results are encouraging, and further large-scale controlled studies should be conducted.
