Normal functioning of a living organism is possible only in conditions of protection from damaging environmental factors. Skin is the first barrier between the body and the environment. Every day the skin is exposed to aggressive environmental factors, contacts with allergens and pathogenic microorganisms, the skin condition reflects the condition of internal organs. The skin of children is most sensitive to the action of irrigants, in view of its anatomical and physiological characteristics. Fine stratum corneum, low activity of local immunity, neutral pH, abundance of capillaries, looseness and hydrophilicity of the children’s skin predispose to skin inflammation in response to the action of external stimuli and endogenous factors. Dermatitis of various genesis accounts for up to 50% of all cases of skin diseases. Currently, the arsenal of a pediatrician for the treatment of dermatitis contains many external medicinal products that have a curative and preventive effect. One of these drugs is dexpanthenol, which has dermatoprotective, regenerating and anti-inflammatory properties. Synthetic analogue helps to fill the deficiency of natural pantothenic acid, which participates in lipid metabolism of the skin surface, accelerates the process of skin regeneration, helps restore its balance and increases the strength of the dermis fibers.
