Each issue is thematic and covers a specific medical area (Allergy/Immunology, Surgery/Urology, Respiratory Diseases/Otorhinolaryngology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Oncology).

The key missions of the journal are to familiarize medical practitioners with the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases in terms of evidence-based medicine, improve the professional level of practical health care specialists within postgraduate education, and be an informational platform for exchange of views and free discussion between specialists.

A wide audience coverage is provided by:

Fundamental medicine is indissolublely related to practical medicine. Therefore, the journal publishes original articles on epidemiology, etiology, and pathogenesis of various diseases, results of various treatment methods, and reviews of most relevant researches serving as a vector for the development of a particular field. Materials are accepted in English and Russian. In addition, conferences and symposiums that are significant for the medical community are announced and reports on past events are published.
