The paper addresses Asherman syndrome, or so-called intrauterine adhesions, characterized by formation of endometrial adhesions and outgrowths with subsequent sclerosis and fibrosis. The disease is complicated by disorders of menstrual and reproductive functions.
The paper also discusses causes of the disease (previous mechanical injury of basal endometrium, retention of membranes after childbirth or miscarriage) as well as methods of diagnosis ( pelvic ultrasound, hydrosonography, hysterosalpingography). Special attention is paid to the "gold standard" for intrauterine adhesions diagnosis - hysteroscopy.
Methods of Asherman syndrome's treatment are aimed at low traumatic stepwise removal of intrauterine adhesions, followed by restoration of menstrual function and fertility. Useful techniques include: surgical dissection of adhesions under visual control during hysteroscopy; further prescription of cyclic hormone therapy with estrogen and progestin, aimed at stimulating endometrium recovery and its cyclic transformation; antibacterial therapy in case of infectious etiology of the disease. Special attention is paid to antireccurent prevention with gelatinous excipients, particularly Antiadgezin, that is administered into uterine cavity after surgery.
Clinical cases of patients with Asherman syndrome after successful complex treatment are presented.

Key words: Asherman syndrome, intrauterine adhesions, hysteroscopy, Antiadgezin.
